Quickest Intrusion Detection with Transient Analysis of Dynamic Phasors

PI: Jingxian Wu, University of Arkansas

This projects addresses intrusions that forge power measurements in SCADA. Since SCADA needs to work in real time, it is critical to detect such intrusions in real time with minimum delays, such that remedial actions and/or countermeasures can be taken in a timely manner.

In particular, this project develops quickest intrusion detection algorithms for power grid by using transient analysis enabled by dynamic phasors, aiming to minimize the detection delay. It provides real-time situation awareness and data analytics to detect abnormal events and malicious activities. The proposed technology can be integrated into bad data detection software as a new functionality.
